Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster and the Joules Accelerator to Host Cleantech Entrepreneur Energizer Networking Event
The Cleantech Entrepreneurship Energizer event on March 2, 2023 will be held at Durham’s American Underground.
RALEIGH, N.C. (February 27, 2023) – The Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster (RTCC), a not-for-profit organization leveraging the unique concentration of industry, academic, and government leaders in the Research Triangle to accelerate growth and leadership of the cleantech economy will host the Cleantech Entrepreneurship Energizer event on March 2, 2023 at American Underground in Durham, NC.
The event will bring together a dynamic group of cleantech entrepreneurs, industry leaders, funders, government officials, and technology experts to discuss what must be done to identify, advise, deploy, and adopt cleantech innovations. Attendees will make new network connections, participate in facilitated discussions, and hear brief technology pitches from the Joules Accelerator Cohort 11 cleantech start-ups.
A key feature of the Energizer event will be a panel of North Carolina leaders interested in advancing cleantech innovation and entrepreneurship. The panel will feature representatives from industry, government, academia, and funding organizations who will address what must be done to identify, advise, deploy, and adopt cleantech innovations and how collaboration can energize cleantech entrepreneurship in North Carolina and beyond. Panelists include Joey Barrick, Associate, SJF Ventures, Will Bernholz, VP Marketing, 8 Rivers, Nicole Coughlin, CIO, Town of Cary, Rob Creighton, Founder and CEO, Windlift, and Ken Dulaney, Director of Industry and Innovation, FREEDM Systems Center at NC State University.
The free event is scheduled for Thursday, March 2 from 3:30pm to 7:30pm at start-up hub American Underground, 201 W Main St. in Durham.
“Clean technology is key to reaching our climate and energy transition goals and has the potential to touch every sector of our economy. Start-ups drive innovation in this industry, yet many cleantech entrepreneurs face significant challenges as they work to develop new technologies and create commercially viable businesses,” explained Dr. Deb Wojcik, executive director of the Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster. “This networking event is part of RTCC’s mission to bring together leaders from business, government, academia, and nonprofit agencies to accelerate the growth of North Carolina’s cleantech economy by supporting our innovation ecosystem statewide.”
The Cleantech Entrepreneurship Energizer networking event is sponsored by SJF Ventures and Leyline Renewable Capital, and hosted at Durham’s American Underground, 201 W Main St. in Durham. The event is free, but registration is required.
